Photonic time stretch (PTS) enables ultrafast continuously running single-pixel spectroscopy and imaging with unprecedented speed of tens of millions frames per second. In this seminar, I will introduce this new type of imaging technique and its versatile utilities in biomedical, manufacturing and scientific applications. Emerging big data challenges in ultrafast imaging are discussed and our recent work on photonic data compression will be presented as well. opy and imaging with unprecedented speed of tens of millions frames per second.
