2025 News

  • The IEEE Montréal Section held its 2025 Annual General Meeting and Banquet on November 14, 2025, at the McGill Faculty Club and Conference Centre. The event brought members together to network, celebrate achievements, and recognize outstanding IEEE volunteers.
  • The IEEE Xtreme 2025 Montréal Gathering took place from October 25 to 26 at ÉTS, where student teams competed in the 24-hour global programming challenge. Participants enjoyed a dedicated workspace, WiFi support, meals and snacks, welcome kits, and recognition for the top ten scorers from the Montréal region.
  • The IEEE Montreal board meeting took place on October 10, 2025, at Concordia University, bringing together members from various institutions for productive discussions. Attendees also enjoyed a friendly networking atmosphere with complimentary pizza, alongside key updates including a presentation by Prof. Gunes Karabulut Kurt, planning for the upcoming AGM and elections, and a brief treasury operations update.
  • The IEEE Young Professionals Montréal team participated in the Fall Engineering, Computer Science, and IT Job Fair at the Palais des congrès on October 8–9. The event, organized in collaboration with l’Événement Carrières, brought together thousands of attendees and offered exceptional networking and career opportunities.
  • The Second Annual IEEE Montréal Section Barbecue took place on July 11, 2025, at Parc Angrignon, bringing members together for a relaxed summer gathering. Attendees enjoyed delicious food, brief discussions on IEEE membership initiatives, and fun activities in a welcoming outdoor setting.
