Integrated Semiconductor Mode-locked Lasers and Frequency Comb Generation
January 14, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Co-sponsored by: OSA
Potential pros, cons, and limits of this seemingly universal diode-laser scheme along with its rather-simple working principles are frankly outlined, for say 20-25 minutes, with referring to evidences that my students have achieved from their experimentally building prototypes which are presently coupled internally by easier fiber-connections. Minimum width of pulse of 1.5 ps, rep rates from 10 thru 100 GHz, line widths of comb of around 3 MHz (due to not-special DFB laser’s width), in the 1.55-um C-band (200-THz band), have been observed by our research group.
