CANCELLED!!! Computational Electromagnetics for Complex Environments

June 20, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the École de Technologie Supérieure and the Power Electronics Society (PELS), Electromagnetic Compatibility Society, and the Electronics Packaging Society Chapters in collaboration with the Industrial Electronics Society (IES), Industry Applications Society, and Power & Energy Society Chapters in the IEEE Montreal Section cordially invites you to a seminar presented by Dr. Amy Pinchuk, President and founder of InField Scientific Inc. Please register using the link provided below.

Seminar Abstract

Electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) analysis for environments such as naval military ships is computationally and pragmatically complex.  E3 attempts to solve problems related to the shipboard topside design, antenna coverage, radar arcs, EMC/EMI between systems, and RF Radiation hazards to personnel, fuel and ordnance. The evolution of computational electromagnetic modelling (CEM) has progressed substantially over the past few decades.  This progression has allowed us to model and analyse increasingly more complex platforms and systems; however, are we converging on solving these real world problems? This talk explores the E3 requirements, CEM evolution, and CEM validity for complex real-life problems.
