Dr. Anader Benyamin-Seeyar

Biography: Dr. Anader Benyamin-Seeyar (IEEE Member 1977, Senior Member 1991 and Fellow EIC 2012,), IEEE COMSOC Montreal Chapter Chair since 2009. He is currently working as a Telecommunications Specialist at SMi Group International Inc, and an Affiliate Associate Professor, Concordia University, Montreal, Qc. Canada.He received his B.S.E.E from Iran University of Science and Technology, in 1973, his M.S.E.E from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in 1979, and his Ph.D. from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) in 1985. From 1973 to 1976, he was a full-time lecturer for undergraduate electronics and communications courses and carried out supervision tasks at the communications laboratory at Iran University of Science & Technology. Since March 1985 he has been working for advanced technology companies such as Apollo Microwave, ISR Technologies, PolarSat Inc, ART Advanced Research Technologies, Harris Corporation (Montreal), Vistar Telecommunications, Spar Aerospace/ ComStream (or MDA Corporation), and Bell-Northern Research (BNR) in the areas of satellite and terrestrial communications, wireless indoor/ outdoor personal communications, high speed multi-media networking, computer communications and telephone systems. His main research interests are towards the advancement of various satellite / wireless / terrestrial communication networks, mobile Ad-Hoc networks, Wireless Active Sensor networks for Aerospace, and communication protocol engineering.He has also been actively involved in contributing to the development of the IEEE 802.16a standard for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) Air Interface (Wireless MAN). In addition, since 2005, he is also involved with the IEEE Montreal Section, initially as a secretary, and then for two years as Chair of the Section. During these years, he has shown significant leadership in enhancing the Section services for all members. He was awarded a prestigious IEEE MGA Leadership Award for the year 2008. He was recipient of the IEEE Montreal?s Communications Chapter that was awarded with a highly prestigious of the IEEE ComSoc`s Chapter of the Year 2012 Award.
